destination: friday harbor and ocean shores

we spent friday at friday harbor. how appropriate. ferry ride was uneventful. jodi, mike and jill all took power naps while lil t’ and i enjoyed the views.

we were all starving so the first place we visit was blue water grill. the best fish and chips, not to mention a kick-ass happy hour.

friday harbor is a nice easy going town. a bit too slow for my pace but definitely a refreshing break from everyday life and responsibilities. glad it remained sunny.

mike, jill and jodi – it is always a fun day out with you guys. we were missing terence but he and tara stayed behind to watch soccer (plus tara did not want to leave school early – such a dedicated student, gave her kudos for that!)

the fun didn’t stop at friday harbor…it continued on to ocean shores.

i grew up in socal (san diego.) i was expecting a beach like back home…ocean shores, nothing like it. it was surprising to see cars driving onto the beach and parking, some tailgating. makes for a horrible view from where we were situated not to mention all the horse shit on the beach. don’t get me wrong, it was a fun day…i just had imagined it to be a little different. granted it’s probably not fair that i’m comparing ocean shores to the beaches of la jolla, delmar and even coronado.

the weather was great! tara experienced her first moped ride with her ninang jodi. teren had his first feel of flying a kite. we pretty much relaxed and soaked up as much sun while we still have it. jill and i both had camera malfunctions leaving angela the only one with a working camera. guess our iphones would have sufficed but there is just something about taking pictures with an actual camera a phone camera can’t capture.
